Plenary Speaker

Jay Stringer

Picture
Jay Stringer is a licensed mental health counselor, ordained minister, and nationally requested speaker on the subject of unwanted sexual behavior (i.e., extra-marital affairs, pornography, buying sex, and others).

Based in Seattle, Jay has spent the last decade on the frontlines of demand for sexual exploitation and pornography. Jay’s clinical work guides men and women to find freedom from unwanted sexual behavior through inviting them to identify the unique reasons that bring them to it. In addition to his therapy practice and frequent speaking engagements, Jay is also a lecturer for the City of Seattle’s “john school,” a program designed for men who have been arrested for soliciting prostitution.

Jay Stringer’s first book, Unwanted: How Sexual Brokenness Reveals Our Way to Healing is based on a multiyear research project into the stories of 3,800 men and women to address the key drivers of unwanted sexual behavior, why people remain in a place of shame, and the journey towards a new sexual story. His research is one of the most comprehensive studies on the subject.

Jay holds an MDiv and master in counseling psychology from the Seattle School of Theology and Psychology and received post-graduate training under Dr. Patrick Carnes and Dr. Dan Allender while serving as a Senior Fellow at the Allender Center.

My Session

The Sexual Discipleship Journey: Roadmap for My Church
Very few, if any, of us would ever drive to a new place without looking at a map or using a GPS. Without a roadmap we can waste precious time, energy and resources trying to get to a place we’ve never been before. Integrating sexual discipleship in our churches is no different. This session is designed to help you discover the key components of the sexual discipleship journey and what these look like in various settings. In addition, you will be encouraged to consider the best way to plan for and implement some next steps for your church.

Ministry Track - Keys To Moving From Brokenness To Wholeness
As a pastor you know people in your church are struggling with sexual sin. Have you prepared and equipped your church to address sexuality and sexual sin?  Learn key foundational components of creating a safe structure for church members to be discipled around their sexuality and to experience healing and transformation from sexual brokenness.

Our 2021 Summit will be April 29 - May 1 in San Antonio, TX
