Sexual Wholeness is a well rounded integration of sexual integrity with ones spiritual life, as well as the willingness to address whatever sexual brokenness we have experienced. This involves openness and sensitivity with difficult issues, transparency in one’s personal life, and boldness mixed with compassion in discussing widespread cultural breakdown.
The idea of sexual wholeness is grounded in the fact that no one lives out their sexuality perfectly. Accordingly, it encourages positive and intentional biblical teaching about God’s design for sexuality and compassionate support for those suffering from sexual wounds or struggling with sexual sins.
Sexual wholeness is not a thing to be achieved but an ongoing process. There is no one program that can simply be plugged into a congregation to work toward sexual wholeness. Rather, striving toward wholeness is a living process, guided by the Holy Spirit, that involves and serves church members of all ages. It strives to eliminate an “us” and “them” mentality about sin and brokenness, and works to bring a congregation together for mutual support and the sharing of God’s gifts with each other and the wider community.
